Located in downtown Tampa, CAMLS is a 90,000-square-foot, three-story facility that provides a state-of-the-art, high-fidelity clinical environment with 60,000 square feet dedicated to surgical skills labs, operating trauma suites, and patient exam rooms. Point of Care Ultrasound (Chest/Abdomen)
|
Enhance your skills on a high-end medical simulator for the training of ultrasound-related examinations and interventions. The Ultrasound Mentor is realistic, hands-on training for the ever-growing utilization of ultrasound in medicine especially at point of care (POC) setting. This workshop will focus on key chest and abdominal techniques for acquiring ideal images.

Basic/Advanced Airway

Basic/Advanced Suturing & Caesarian Practice

Get your hands on real instrumentation and practice basic to advanced suturing skills including suturing wounds, knot tying, and removing suture/staples. Gain invaluable practice with complex wound closure on a caesarian section model with expert advice!

Ultrasound Guided Central Line Placement
|
Ultrasound guided central line placement is an in-demand skill! Practice central line placement using the CentraLineMan System, which features clinically relevant landmarks and anatomy. You will be able to practice performing full venous catheterization using ultrasound-guided or blind/landmark insertion approaches at the subclavian, supraclavicular, and internal jugular vein sites. This vascular access trainer also includes accurate internal and external landmarks that are palpable and/or visible under ultrasound.

Lumbar Puncture
|
Safely master critical techniques for lumbar puncture insertion with Simulab’s ultrasound-guided Lumbar Puncture Trainer. This true-to-life simulator will give you hands-on experience with a mannikin in upright or in a lateral decubitus position. There are features of the lumbar vertebrae, iliac crest, spinous process, ligamentum flavum, and epidural space, as well as simulated cerebrospinal fluid. Feel first-hand what it's like to enter the subarachnoid space and CSF is present.

This activity has been reviewed by the AAPA Review Panel and is compliant with AAPA CME Criteria. This activity is designated for 14 AAPA Category 1 CME credits.
